FAQ

Q: How much are tickets?

A: Regular price tickets are $49 (all fees included) and we will also have early-bird priced tickets. Join our newsletter to be the first to find out when they will be available.

Q: Can I get tickets on the day of?

A: Yes, but this event will most likely sell out so please purchase in advance. We will not be able to seat anyone who does not have a ticket.

Q:  How do I get involved?

A: Email volunteering@innerframefestival.com for ways that you can get involved.  You can also follow us on Instagram and share our posts so we can reach a wide variety of people who may have never heard of us . . . . @innerframefestival

Q: What if my film doesn’t quite fit the genre of this festival?

A: No problem. The focus of the Inner Frame for the first few years will be clinical work but we are currently working hard at creating spin offs — an experimental night called “Out of the Frame,” an Inner Frame devoted solely to documentary, a youth Inner Frame and a long format Inner Frame. These are all being planned for in the next few years. Stay tuned!

Q: I’m an artist and I would love to collaborate on a film like this, how do I go about doing it?

A: Email us at info@innerframefestival.com and we will put you on a list of artists we distribute to therapists to see if there is a good match. Plus we just like meeting new artists and hearing more about their vision, so please do reach out.

Q: I’m a psychoanalytically oriented therapist but I’m not an analyst, can I contribute?

A: Absolutely. Email us at info@innerframefestival.com. We typically reach out to analysts first but we also are very interested in therapists who are analytically minded. And we might not know who you are, so please do introduce yourself and we would be happy to talk with you and understand more about where you’re coming from. It’s always great to meet people along the way so please don’t hesitate to connect.

Q: I write about psychoanalysis, can I make a film about an idea or theory?

A: Yes, most definitely. The first few years of the festival will be more clinical focused but we enjoy a good movie about theory so long as it doesn’t patronize the viewer or teach them a lesson. We never wish to underestimate the intelligence of our audience.

Q: I’m a patient who was in analysis, can I make a film?

A: Yes, the patient’s point of view is extremely important. We try to include one patient film each year so that slot might already be filled but next year is not that far away so please do reach out.

Q: I live far away from all of these events, will there be an online showing I could attend?

A: This is a question we get a lot. We are making plans for a virtual event but so far we don’t have one on the books. We might be coming to a city near you so be sure to join the mailing list to hear about new shows, be the first to see the next year’s lineup and get the inside scoop on all Inner Frame related events!

Q: Where do the proceeds go?

A:  After overhead costs, all proceeds go towards funding artists for next year who help the analysts and therapists tell their stories.
