An evening of shorts dedicated to psychoanalysis
November 5, 2026 • Walter Reade Theater, 165 W 65th St, New York, NY 10023
Discover short films that delve into the depths of the human experience
The Inner Frame is an evening devoted to watching and discussing shorts that are ten minutes and under and that explore, among other things, memory, desire, trauma, and the transformative power of the analytic process. Listening to these stories together and discussing them within a community of thinkers, artists, clinicians and everyday people is what makes the Inner Frame a shared experience that is not to be missed.
Do you have an idea for a short film?
We’re creating an evening of shorts for discussion and we are seeking submissions.
Get involved
Are you a filmmaker, artist or clinician interested in making a short film having to do with any aspect of psychoanalytic ideas, treatment, tradition or history? We’re interested in helping you realize your project.
Suitable for creatives, scholars, researchers and anyone within the field of psychoanalysis, all accepted submissions and grant recipients will have their short films shown during our film festival that takes place the first week of November every year.
If you would like to participate, or otherwise get involved with Inner Frame, please let us know using the form on our submissions page.
